I still love this game but they could have done so much more regarding her gameplay. Visually, it's as stunning and clever as always but the puzzles are too easy and even though there are some new mechanics introduced, it feels like so much more could have been done. I was quite disappointed when I saw the end screen, it seemed to just be getting started... Full Review

Really loved the first game, still liked the second. However, for the steeper price I expected a bit more. The game is more of the same for the first half, the levels are less impressive than the first games'. After a while there are some new and interesting concepts being introduced, but they were too little, too late. I am expecting a new part "soon" with more of these new concepts in it, but therefore, it feels as if UsTwo deliberately saved the best part for another part for some "easy cash". Full Review

People that are looking for a challenging puzzle game will probably be disappointed... The game is not very difficult to master, yet I find that because it is fairly easy it's brilliant to just relax and calm down, and marvel at the beauty of this game. The music is excellent and the graphics are absolutely gorgeous, this combined with matching sound effects for every interaction makes for an unbelievable experience. This is not a game you play, I actually felt part of it in a way the first one was not able to achieve. Full Review

Its beautiful. The journey was amazing. But it is too short for such price. And the game now more like walking simulator - you need just relax and enjoy the amazing scenery. Very few actual challenges for the brain. The focus shifted from puzzles to narrative. So, bottomline: Its expensive, short, 'tap to walkthrough' for the most part, very few new concepts and mechanics, BUT it's still beautiful, with gorgeous music and setting, AND the only real change is having more story in gameplay. I want more. But please more challenge, more originality and more Totem. Can we expect to wait for the next addon with all this stuff? Full Review

I am a big fan of the first game and I expected great things from this sequel. Unfortunately, it fails to replicate the brilliance of its predecessor with puzzles that are too similar to those found in the first game. Sure, it does bring new concepts and mechanics but only in the second half of the game. This said, the graphics, soundtrack, artwork and ambiance still make this game worth playing and a very good game. Maybe not at that price, but it's not too bad. Looking forward to the new chapters with new levels, hopefully those contain new mechanics. Full Review

This is an amazing game in many respects. In most of them, this is a step forward over MV1 - better sound design, great levels, more mechanics to play with. However, the narrative is a letdown - there is no real meaning in progression, the levels do not reflect the plot. MV2 has the variety, but MV1's coherence in storytelling make it a better experience overall. Full Review

Don't let the graphics fool you. They are gorgeous and a real pleasure, but as a game it is well short of the original Monument Valley. It was by comparison too easy and over so quickly I thought there must be another stage. Frankly as a game not worth the cost. Is there a whiff of profiting on past success? Full Review

Aesthically superior to the first one, but falls short in terms of gameplay. Puzzles were far too easy and the content wasn't enough to make up for it. The "story" also seems to be rather non-existent this time round. The game is however, beautifully designed with tons of creativity put into the game. Still a 5 star game despite its flaws; looking forward to future dlcs for the game Full Review

I played the first monument valley when it first came out and I was put in a trance by the music and gorgeous artwork. Needless to say I took every chance I could to play and finish the game. This next game is just the same, I love the whole storyline, the characters, the art and level design it's all just amazing. Problem solving games are my go to game and this game is exactly what I was looking for. Full Review

The first one was FAR better. This game had very few real challenging levels, if any. The new mechanics and puzzles they added were cool, but they could have done a lot more with them. It was far less of a mind bending game than the original. I was surely let down Full Review

Great game and great follow up to the original. My main issue is the same as the first. It's quite short. $5 for a mobile game is not cheap, the value is subjective and certainly the devs put a lot of work into the game. Just caught me by surprise that it was over so quickly. Full Review

As a work of art and design, it's absolutely gorgeous and brilliant. As a puzzle, it's not nearly as challenging as the first Monument Valley. I think the designers forgot it was a puzzle game. Also, there's no indication ahead of time of how many levels there are, which unnecessarily adds to the disappointing sense that it's too short when the last level is surprisingly done. All this did not prevent me from playing through twice, though. If you have not played the first Monument Valley, I highly recommend starting with this shorter and less challenging edition, and then getting the first one. Fans of the first one will not want to miss this new edition, so I recommend it, as long as you are forewarned that it's beautiful and imaginative, but shorter and less challenging as a puzzle. I had high hopes, but it is far easier than the original. Many of the levels seem to be to promote the story rather than being actual puzzles. Others are intuitive meaning you can wonder from one end to the other without having to think at all. It looks very nice, but the small number of levels, and speed at which they can be completed led time feeling short changed. Full Review

I was on the list anxiously waiting while all the Apple people got their hands on this first. I'm a huge fan of the first game and this sequel is a massive disappointment. 1. The sound effects aren't as polished. 2. It has more levels but they are so easy the game is considerably shorter. One of the levels you literally walk from point A to point B and that's it. 3. It does fill in the gaps in story from the original and has some very cute moments. So that's a plus. Overall this game is not worth the money. Full Review

I'm really disappointed with the sequel. I absolutely loved the first one and I was expecting it to have the same learning curve as the first one with more challenging levels from midway on but it's just too easy and for the price I feel ripped off. If you haven't played the first one I recommend you play that one. I feel like the developers dialled this one in and did it for the money Full Review

I loved the first one so much that I downloaded this one without hesitation, regardless of people saying it was easier; I just figured everyone was incredibly smart. Well, I am disappointed to say I finished this game in less than an hour, and unfortunately it wasn't because I am smart. The first game was a beautiful game- the graphics so simply stunning, while being challenging. It's been several years since I've played the first one, and I was sadly disappointed at how quickly I completed this one. Move level, please! Full Review

After playing monument valley, this sequel is pretty disappointing to me. The gameplay is almost a copy from the first one, hence that I could get through the whole game in less then 90 mins without feeling I've even tried hard. The whole experience including the music and graphic got dragged down because of the childhood level of difficulty. I admitted that if you didn't play the first version you might think this version is good though. Like all things, the sequels are usually bad and this one is no exception. Full Review

I can't give MV2 anything less than 5 stars because it is still one of the best games I've ever played. It would only lose a star in comparison with its superior predecessor. I loved the new puzzle types, especially the light puzzles. I, too, thought it was too short and the puzzles were easier than I remember from the first game. My main complaint, however, is that the narrative was not nearly as evocative as the first. The growing of a child is a sweet story, but the narrative in the first game was a journey of grief, guilt, and forgiveness, a much more complex story. The emotions it evoked were real, whereas MV2 evoked only recognition of the symbolism: I too am a parent and this journey is like my journey! Still, this game is fantastic on all merits. I look forward to a more emotional story again in the next installment. Devs, creative team, you're doing a fantastic job. I'll buy every new story you make. Full Review

Great sequel for my favorite game. While I also love this one, it just doesn't have quite the same appeal as the original - something seems to be missing, but I can't put my finger on it. Gorgeous, elegant, simple yet challenging and new elements to set it apart from the original. I believe this game is well worth the price tag. I gave it a 5, but it's really a 4.9. Full Review

It was always going to be difficult to top Monument Valley... but given you guys/gals $killset, I expected better... more bang for my buck! MV2 does appear more revenue oriented. Substance was the needed order of the day here! USTWO have fallen short, and fallen foul of delivering such a brilliant reference to start with... Now, learn your lesson, USTWO; I should not have to learn my lesson by parting with hard earned cash for less than expected, retrospectively... now, up the ante! Learn to manage expectation! I bought this game today and finished it. I was hooked on the first one and was hooked with this one. The graphics are stunning and beautiful. MV1 was a superb game, brilliantly realised. This sequel I had great expectations of but was a little disappointed. Some levels were rather short, one or two exceptionally so. There were some new ideas, again well done but in essence it was like an expansion pack. There did not seem to be the complexity of before and often a level was a one trick wonder, repeated, with little of the creativity and cleverness of design I was hoping for. Still worth playing but it is always hard to live up to something as good as MV1. Full Review

Very disappointed with the game. The first was already pretty straightforward and wit very few challenging levels. This one is horribly easier and does not offer any level requiring a bit of bread scratching. If you just want some game looking nice and with quiet music and philosophical quotes from time to time this game is for you. If you like puzzle and brain games, stay away from this title. Really enjoyed the first game because it started easy and built up the difficulty. Unfortunately this game forgets we have played it before and starts back at the simple stuff. It's so slow I've got bored and can't be bothered to see if it gets better. Now I've finished it, wish I'd saved my money to be honest. Far to arty farty and not enough game. I have no idea why this game is getting such a bad rep, it's great. It does everything a good sequel should do, up the stakes with new types of puzzles, shows more of world and expands the plot and characters, and stays true to the original. I even liked the visuals much more in this one, it's heartbreakingly beautiful, you can see the love and care put into each one of these levels. The only negatve I can put out there is that it's a little too easy in some parts but I believe that was in response to how difficult to the point of annoyance the last game was. Difficulty is a hard thing to balance, especially in a puzzle, and given how good the rest of the game was I'll be happy to give it a pass. My only other complaint was how short the game was. That may be valid but it is also indicative of how good the game was, since I was left wanting more. All in all it was a great experience and I'm happy to recommend it to anyone who was happy with the first one. Full Review

Not nearly as fun as the original. No actual puzzle elements exist in this game, just wait times and transitions where new things appear. It's more like an experimental experience game than it is a puzzle game.
