I would give it 5 stars but it stopped playing videos!!!! It keeps showing up cannot play video restart device and try again, which I have multiple times now and it still happens! I have all my shows still but none will play! It worked great earlier today and before it was working perfect! I can't get any answers on support either. I went to website and couldn't get help there. I am a paid subscriber! I hope this is a minor setback and it starts running again tomorrow otherwise I will have no choice but to cancel! I am on fixed income and can't afford to pay for something that isn't working! Thank you! I changed rating to 5 stars! With new update my videos are now back!!!! Thank you for fixing!!!!!! Going quickly through your shows and episodes have becoming absolutely cumbersome. When watching dubbed anime as it switches to the next episode it goes back and forth between dubbed and subtitled episodes. It was a nice visual change but functionality wise it was a major step backwards. Wish I never updated. Full Review

This was my favorite app. Loved it. I've had it for many years. Since the latest Hulu update 06/21/2017. I have a home page but can not play any programs at all on my phone. I've contacted customer support via online chat did what they told me. I have called them also. Still no videos will play. Please fix this Soon. Beware if you update this app. It may stop working. I left hulu for a while but I eventually re-subscribed and i have to say the new app looks nice but its not as functional as it was, for example, I used to be able to look up movies by the actors and I wish you could see the selections of movies and shows they have in a specific language (like Netflix). I really hulu but i hope they add these features to. Also, they force you to download the app cant watch hulu on the Mobil version of chrome. I dont know if its just me but its also extreamly laggy and stope every 3 seconds, I can only watch it on my tv and computer fine... I have the plan without adds but it still has this circle counting down add secons on the top left corner Full Review

Your new updated app SUCKS big time. You've made it impossible to browse new shows or find what you were watching without wasting a huge amount of time. UPDATE: 2017. No longer compatible with Chromecast. The Chromecast icon doesn't even appear as an option when viewing on Android app. Useless if you want to view on a TV screen. Needless to say we're disappointed. PAST PRAISES: Hulu has the largest selection of popular and now difficult to find television shows from the 50âs, 60âs, 70's & 80âs plus recently released movies. The family enjoys watching the old detective and westerns shows. We dropped a competitor service because it offered mostly original programming which we were not interested in viewing. Full Review

Don't like the setup since the new update. Makes it much more difficult to find what I want unless I go to the search bar. That being said, I haven't been disappointed by ANY Hulu original series. Honestly probably better than the ones on Netflix. I also love that Hulu offers episodes as they air instead of waiting for the entire season. ðð Full Review

This app is the WORST! There's so much wrong with the user experience, there isn't space to list half of what's wrong. If you swipe anywhere on the playing screen, it fast-forwards to the end and starts the next episode. A complete joke and nightmare of an app. What were they thinking? Horrible. Full Review

Not really feeling the new updated version. I've been getting more error messages during commercials, and when I click retry, the count for them starts over! I've swiped the screen and the episode jumps entirely to the end. Hate how the anime episodes switch between sub and dub on autoplay. New version not as user friendly as the older one. Full Review

It seems like the commercials are taken over the show content. I can rewind a couple of minutes of the show without watching the same commercials I watched just a few minutes ago. I understand the need for commercials to keep the monthly subscriptions low but having to watch the same set of commercials u just watched is overkill! To make matters short for people who actually care, Hulu, the streaming service that recently launched aÂ live TV initiative, updated its mobile app this week. But instead of thinking of all the content I could be watching on it, such as the exclusiveÂ The Handmaid's Tale, I'm stuck on one thought: endless scrolling. You see, the designers at Hulu have apparently decided that they'd rather present users with a flashy, colorful app instead of one that prioritizes usability. In the new app, there's no way to discern what episode is newest or what I've already watched -- everything is just presented in a long list you must now manually scroll through. Don't take my word on it. I ironically scrolled through the app's rating onÂ Google PlayÂ and found many users rating the newest update one or twoÂ stars.Â Full Review

This redesign is a usability nightmare. It's as if the app designers didn't bother to actually use the app prior to release, but designed something purely for themselves. But maybe the designers at Hulu just have terrible taste in programming they want to force on all users by making navigation and organic discovery both nearly impossible. It wouldn't be so bad if the recommendations were actually personalized, or if I could still access my Watchlist. This is still a prime example of user-hostile design. The new app is the reason why I feel the need to provide a low rating. Hulu needs to take all the feedback about the new UI seriously - I'm among the users who use the app much less than before simply because it's now a pain to use. Am I actually expected to browse my shows one at a time? I also feel the app is pushing a lot of recommendations that I'm not interested in, whereas the old experience would just show me my watchlist first. So frustrating. I can't count the number of times I've opened the app and exited it without choosing a show because I couldn't be bothered to figure out the convoluted app. Full Review

App for tablet is really bad. It will restart an episode if the lock screen goes on. Also very senastive to rewinding, when watching I will accidently fastfoward or rewind by just trying to click the pause button because the controls are all over the center of the screen. Please fix this problem. Please also fix the browsing experience for tablet and smart TV. Smart TV does not show all of the shows available, tablet does which is a plus but when browsing it will go back to the top while scrolling down because again the controls seem to be in the center of the touch screen. The videos haven't worked for weeks on my galaxy s7. Customer service did all the troubleshooting they could before declaring it a known issue and to watch my shows on another device. The website doesn't work on mobile so I can only watch shows at home on my TV. Hulu is great but the app needs an overhaul. Full Review

I cast everything from my phone. My phone is all I use. If you don't fix the mobile app issues, ie...videos not playing...I will drop you and you will never regain my business. I am an extremely loyal customer unless you make me pay for subpar technology. Then I will smear your name every chance I get and post it everywhere all day everyday. This new app makes it so videos don't play in Android. All videos, even the intro video telling you how to use the new app. I uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing. Doesn't matter if I am on wifi or mobile, nothing. Just an error message Everytime. And the new app makes it harder to find videos to watch anyways. Tried to load the help page but it doesn't load making it impossible to fix any issue in app. Tried different profiles and get the same issue. This app update makes it impossible to use the service on Android. Wasting $12/month. Thanks Hulu.... Full Review

I have Netflix and I love it but its like salt n pepper I have to have both I think if Hulu and Netflix teamed up made a new streaming service it would rule the streaming world or if like Redbox teamed up with Hulu to provide better movies but I only use Hulu for TV shows and documentaries Hulu is great for the winter time when you wanna stay home out the cold and cuddle with your family under the blankets enjoying some quality programming provided by non other than the great Hulu Full Review

When I log in to hulu I want to see what I've been watching and possibly what's new. Instead I get the shows you've sold out to that you think I want to watch. The older version was more clear as to what shows were new if they're airing currently. If you're designing an app for the customer, make it more customized for the consumer. The new app layout really speaks to how much Hulu has listened more to the corporations and not the customer. Full Review

I love Hulu and the new upgrade would be cool I have to start my show progress all over again every time I exit out of my account and long back in it'll start my show I have to watch the commercial again before. Can even fast forward anything. Idk if this is just an Android problem or what but it makes no sense to me. Before what I am about to post Hulu has always been awesome! But most recently there's been issues with the videos not playing. Customer service told me this will be fixed with the next update which is happening in 7 days. Hope it is, because I love using hulu. Highly recommended if they can fix the bugs. Full Review

The new update is terrible. I've had to uninstall the app 3 times to rid it of error codes. It never remember where I left off in a series, the recommendations are not anything I'd watch. It's hard to find shows I am watching when I have to uninstall and reinstall the app. I don't have this kind of trouble with Netflix and am thinking about cancelling my subscription. Full Review

After the last update to the Xbox and Android app navigating through the content is very difficult. The the new layout is just horrible! Worst update. The older version was so much better. Why would you try to fix something that didn't need fixing. I understand updates but you completely changed the whole format. And even worse half the time it won't load and the other half takes forever to load and then say playback error. Really dumb hulu. Just glad I still have the older version on my PlayStation and blue ray player. The beta phone app sucks!!!!! Full Review
