One of the most amazing app I have ever used. Collages, gif animations are very easy to create. The videos which sometimes are done automatically by the app can be edited using a variety of design templates and songs. The album can be shared so you coud use the link and pass it to you family and friends without the necessity of up/dowloading the data. I found that sometimes the video maker crashes and there are some bugs when uploading the video to youtube directly but even with this its worth 5*. thank you Full Review

I have been on "getting photos" since I activated this galaxy s8 plus. None of my pictures that I have taken or downloaded have been backed up. I have made sure the correct folders are marked, tried to clear cache, and uninstall updates as advised by the google help page. Made sure it is set to backup when charging and on wifi. Any help that proves fruitful appreciated. Edit: after all the above trouble, somehow the pictures started to upload. Don't know what happened really. Edit: now I have a Note 8 and still have the same issue. I have not had any resolution. Full Review

This is a great system for storing your photos. Plenty of cloud storage and easy to use. My only gripe is that it hammers your internet bandwidth when syncing to the cloud. Probably not so bad if you're on fibre but it totally kills my ADSL connection. I wish they'd put some kind of throttle on it. Other than that it's perfect. Full Review

It's really a cool app. Few things like edit option, creating collage, saving edited file as a copy are really good feature. One good thing it is already connected to Google drive so backup is automatically taken. Many a times it offers some stylized photos. It is sometimes really good but sometimes it makes it black and white and doesn't give any opinion to change it as well. This is not good. Many a times it fails to locate and becomes bit difficult to contribute to Google maps. Overal it's really a good app from Google. Full Review

One of the better photo management services out there but as someone who had thousands of pics, would be /*/HELPFUL/*/ if there were 8a duplicate search feature. Also bad pics that are deleted from camera within a minute or so of taking the pic are still auto-uploaded. Would be nice to have an easy way to move pics between albums, merge albums, etc -- needs better album management! Why do I need to create a new album for every day that I take a picture or add a graphic top a synchronized directory? 😳 Full Review

Edit 10/14/2017: Still love this app, but did you guys remove the option for the floating gallery button in the camera app? I can't seem to find the option anymore in settings. I LOVED that feature. Can we have it back please?? I love this app. It's so useful and so easy to use. When you are on your cell you want to get things done fast and easily. I like how it categorizes pics. I like how it recognizes faces and groups them. I like the interface. Also has good performance. I can't even think of anything bad about the app. A+! Full Review

Bring back "backup while charging only" feature. I take so many photos or my kids. Many don't always turn out so I'd delete them on my phone before charging and only the good ones ended up on Google Photos. And those would be the ones I'd use for our family scrapbooks. Which was perfect. Now all of them end up on Google Photos and I have to go through and delete them on there too. Full Review

It works nicely, with albums, free storage etc. But I still miss the old Picasa possibility to directly share a photo by linking to it on forums in a way it is instantly visible without linking, the so called deep linking. Now I still have to work with photobucket etc. Which makes things needlessly complicated. Please bring back direct deep linking. You'll jump straight to 5 stars in my book... Full Review

Biggest pro: unlimited storage as a pixel owner. Whenever I hear people who run into storage issues and have to miss capturing the moment using the camera, I was very glad and grateful to have Google photos. The Google assistant constantly monitor and back up all photos from different apps aside from the camera app (e.g. Instagram, Facebook Messenger, WeChat), it also offer helpful suggestions to allow you to declutter, animate and tinker around with your photos right within the app. Best app ever! I cannot tell you how valuable this has been for me. I love that it backs up automatically when I connect to WiFi. I love that it has unlimited storage with quality high enough for most folks, obviously photo buffs won't like this. But unlimited backups is really hard not to love. It helps me with Tumblr as well with IFTTT. Google, I'm surprised you haven't taken over the world already, if you already haven't that is. Full Review

The search functionality is fantastic. I had to perform a special trick to get it to work in Europe though. The interface is simple generally speaking, but the assistant tab is overwhelming and confusing. I love the things that assistant does automatically, but I wish we could also trigger them manually. The myriad of editing options is amazing. Autoawesome seems to have gotten weaker over time, but it still does it's job well. I miss the drama filter that the old google + photos had, though. All in all, awesome functionality but somewhat awkward delivery. Full Review

One key feature that would move this to 5 stars for me is to increase the functionality of the "create new" menu option. I need to be able to "create new" photo book, movie, collage from WITHIN my albums. (Or from within a search) Right now those features are nice but not very convenient to use in the ways I want to use them. Make it so I can easily search one of my people and quickly use that search to create a movie or photbook of photos for their birthday, for example. The way it's set up now, that's way to cumbersome to do without lots of extra steps. Full Review

Excellent tool for basic organization, gathering and sharing of pics &vids. With so many devices able to take pics this provide a convenient platform. Would be nice to be able to edit the date of individual/several items at once, directly from the app. Also, it would be great to have some kind of filter in the "photos" tab, to see which ones are part of no album/which ones are part of given albums... would help finding the forgotten ones. Finally, a "back up" button would be very handy. When I download (unsorted) pictures from my SD card to my tablet google photos automatically backs up all of them, including the missed/messed up ones... so i end up having to find and clean these pics from my google pictures library... Overall, I think this is the best free photo app on the planet, if not the universe. But I don't understand how it calculates number of photos to back up. I had 1,300 photos to upload from a recent trip. I left it on overnight to do its thing and when I woke up, 16 pictures left. 4-5 mins later, 243, few minutes later 357. Makes no sense at all. I cannot stop it. Have to reset the device. New update is horrendous. I have about 2500 photos in my phone since last year till now, but I already have uploaded 90% of them to clouds. So it's supposed to upload those 10% pics that haven't back up yet. But then the notifications said it gonna upload all 2500 pics in my phone again. What wrong with this update? That's gonna be huge data wasted and thousands of duplicate pictures. Also why this update remove only back up when charging. My phone drained so fast because this update. Full Review
