I love this app, when it works. I can't figure out why it stopped working with my LG v30 running nougat 7.1.2 and 2017 Buick encore this past week. I bought a newer model car just so it would be compatible with this app! Meanwhile, my old Nexus 6 still works fine with it. Turning on USB debugging did not help. The support forum has a bunch of other people with issues including with new pixel phones. Full Review

This app is pretty good. I like the new interface updates, and the assistant is totally helpful. My one beef is that I wish I had more ability to navigate apps with the car screen. I'll be in the middle of a podcast on my phone, switch to the car, and Android Auto will start the podcast over again from the beginning. And if that's the case, give me a scroll bar on the car screen so I can skip to where I was. I'll sit there in the car and tap the "jump ahead 30 seconds" button 100 times Full Review

Lovely app. Why not add the Napster app? It's pretty popular. Also it'd be cool to have some settings for the app as far as being able to not have the Maps go into nighttime mode if I'm running my car lights on automatic. It really should go off the local time. Anyway, good app. I enjoy a lol of the features just wish more content would be added. Add the NAPSTER APP PLEASE. Full Review

This is great app and it works pretty well with my Ford Sync 3. Seems like the updates have taken care of some of the quirks along the way. I wish there was a way to integrate a separate phone. I also wish it was available on my galaxy tab E. I usually use Google maps and Pandora offline and I would highly recommend it! Full Review

I like the usability with Google, but it still has issues working with Waze-even with all settings being correct. Also, it has frozen on 2 different screens. Using in 2017 Kia Sorento. Dec. 2017 Update: with the last update for Waze, as well as an update for Android Auto, Waze has been working great! I'm looking forward to more updates to the program as time goes on to fine-tunethe app even more. Full Review

I only have 3 issues with the app. 1) You can only reply to messages you've received while using Android auto. You can't say "Text Bryan - Gonna be late, stuck in traffic" Bryan would have to text you first asking you where you were then you'd have to say "Reply - Gonna be late". 2) I like that you have to be at a stop to scroll through lists but I don't like that your parking brake has to be engaged. That's too far. 3) Make browsing music content easier. Maybe place an option to use a keyboard to search for artists or specific tracks when the vehicle is stopped. Full Review

It's definitely better than having nothing, but the interface is clunky and nothing like android on any of my devices. I wanted to use it for maps, but it doesn't have anywhere near the ability of my phone even. Wish it would let me run the Garmin app through it. About all I use it for now is displaying extra gauges (like engine temp). Hopefully it will show some significant improvements in the near future. Full Review

Handy but needs work. Sometimes it crashes when I'm on BT. (I have a Pixel 2). This did not happen when my phone was physically connected. It would be nice to be able to preset the cards that appear. The card that I can touch to get directions Home shows how far it is to home when I open the app but does not change as my distance from home changes. Also, I would like to change font or card size. It is a simple interface that is easy to use. That said it limits or removes nearly all of the functions a user is used to being able to use: if someone sends an address by SMS, you can to memorize the address as it reads it or you have to unplug the phone, exit the app, open the message, open the address in Maps, then reconnect the phone, open the map app and select the address. There are a number of things like this in the app. Full Review

The application world's as expected. My phone (Nexus 5X) did have problems connecting to my car but I found a fix on the internet. Other newer phones experienced no such problems (I've tested it with two different Samsung Galaxy S8 versions). Love the full Android integration and exceptional voice control. Full Review

Navigation works great. Love the Google maps mirroring on my Bluetooth stereo. Also love being able to search for places on Google maps with voice commands. Wish music and text worked better. Music doesn't allow you to search though Google play radio stations. App also needs capability to read text messages out loud and be able to text back via voice control. Full Review

Bluetooth works until the call connects then stops using my Silverado speakers forcing me to talk directly through the phone. Navigation function is really the reason I downloaded the app. If Bluetooth doesn't work correctly I will probably uninstall Android Auto. Recently reinstalled app and newest version works as I had hoped. No more issues with Bluetooth and launches only when I want. Full Review

I wish that my Bluetooth aux adapter could send call audio to my speakers while I used the phone's mic. I really like the traffic report option when I'm travelling to and from work. It's saved me several minutes waiting in traffic. I wish that the music app could have a swipe-to-skip, that way I wouldn't have have to guess where the skip button is and I wouldn't have to look down at my phone. I have no desire of giving a song a thumbs up while I'm driving, so getting rid of that screen might help. Full Review

Depending on the phone it's fast or it's slow. On my Galaxy S7 Edge it was a little slow and it would crash pretty regularly if I ran nav and a pod cast app at the same time. However on my Pixel 2 XL it's pretty much flawless. I do wish there was a way to navigate the different screens by voice, for example "go to navigation app" or "go to audible app". Anyway outside of that I think it's great. Great for navigation, great for hands free google assistant, great for hands free texting. Thanks Google. Full Review

This app is great. I love the enlarged and simple interface for maps and Spotify. However, removing a star for a less robust version of Google voice. For example, you can't ask google to start a playlist from a song in Spotify when Auto is open. Also removing a star for a common bug where navigation voice will not play through bluetooth audio even though Spotify or other music apps will. Full Review

Then it repeats the message through my music apps like Pandora or Pocketcasts making them not play. It happen with the latest update to Android auto. I have used Automate app with AppRadio and it is a million times better and way more features. I wish Google would put more effort into this. Also, you are extremely limited when it comes to playing music, android auto limits the scrolling you can do in your music player to just a few pages. For instance, in Rocket player, I can only scroll down to Artist that begin with "B" before I get the "Scrolling has been locked for safety", so I can't play my music. Also does this I all apps, like tune in radio as well. I understand the safety issue, they should implement better voice interaction for the apps or something. I know Google can come up with a solution, I just don't know if they will. Full Review

Great going Google.. Thank you for the Android Auto. It's revolutionary. Please fix following issues. 1. Screen goes black, when plugged in to the car unit. This happens due to the RAM issues probably. If i open Android auto in advance and then plug it works. 2. When call recived screen automatically goes to the call screen (i.e. from.maps) and post call have to change the screen again. Full Review

This is a good start for what is an important app for motorists but there are some significant features missing. There are lessons to be learned from Automate.* I'm using Map Speed Limit as an overlay to get around this for now. Full Review

But then another phone and another update later and it's totally useless. I can't use any of my other apps with it even though I should be able to. This app is a total game changer. When I bought my 2016 Civic, I didn't even know that Android auto was a thing. Once I plugged my phone in, it downloaded Android auto automatically and brought it up on the car's screen. Now that I've used it for over a year I can't imagine driving without it. Having the access to Google maps is maybe the best function of it, but also having the easy access to music and podcasts make this a must have. If your car supports it, you must try it. Full Review

Works well but needs some improvements to Google Play Music. It would be nice to be able to go to an artist's page using a Google Assistant and select the album or song via the steering wheel buttons. As it stands now it's difficult to play a specific album, and impossible to start a specific radio station via Google Assistant. Which is puzzling, since the Google Assistant can do both of those things using only voice commands on my Google Home Mini. Some updates to make the hands free/voice command capabilities more versatile would make this a five star app. Full Review

Works fairly well, but not very intuitive and graphically clunky. Map feature is poor unless going only east/west. Going north is blocked by system information and going south is blocked by the name of the street you are currently on. Not as many apps seem to be connected vs Carplay. Best feature, and it is awesome, is "Ok Google". That makes up for quite a bit. But seeing the map better is critical for an app like this. Full Review

I love almost everything about this app. Everything works quite well with a couple of exceptions. My biggest issue isn't really a problem with this app itself, but an underlying issue that presents itself in Android Auto. It is that texts and phone calls are made via the carrier number and not Google Voice. If the phone defaults to Voice, Android Auto should too (I realize that this is due to how the Google search functions and not Android Auto itself but nonetheless.) Full Review
