It's gotten bloated and slow over the past few years, it doesn't let you store books to external cards (which is a pain if your device has limited storage without it and you read comics which get HUGE), and it goes a bit nuts with the notifications. Kindle is still a phenomenal way to read books, just stick with an actual ereader as much as you can. Full Review

Update 15.02.18. January version comeback. Store is unusable. Update 10.02.18. Returned to the previous version of the market and became again very usable. Raised rating till 4 stars. Please add the ability to use other dictionaries. Previous updates made this app more accessible, considering the access to the store. Recent update ruins all experience. The store, accessed from this app, is absolutely unfunctional. I can't even add the book to the wishlist. Moreover, the purchased status is not indicated. I should access every individual book in order to see the price. Please return to the previous version of the store accessed from the kindle app + add, if possible, the ability to visualise kindle wishlists directly from the app. Reading part is 80% good, but, please add the ability to use other dictionaries besides those provided by amazon. Great, easy to use app. However, I do have two issues with it. Firstly mine has a bug that sometimes gives me a blank screen when I open it after it has been minimised. I have to change the background colour to see the text once more. After having updated it, I now sometimes have to close the app and reopen to fix the issue. Second issue is that I want to be able to make my reading screen darker than my phone's darkest brightness setting. When I read with a black background the white is too bright. Full Review

The reader works great and comic panels have a nice feature for readability but the store works against you. Digital orders can't be refunded and coincidentally One-Click ordering for digital items can't be turned off. I now have to call customer service in the morning just to try and get a refund for a 15 dollar book I never wanted. Full Review

That is what technology is for; improving ourselves. Amazon Kindle certainly fits that purpose perfectly. One of the features I like is Word Wise, extremely useful. Keep up the great work. By reading new books, we are able to see the world in a different way and see things we weren't able before. By getting such content, we can spread it and contribute to a better world. Change your mind, change the world. Full Review

It works great in my kindle reader and on my other mobiles but Whenever I try to open this app on my 'Infinix Hot 4 Pro' mobile it can't open. It's written every time that 'Unfortunately, Amazon kindle has stopped'. I have already informed this problem to the Kindle customer care by mail & also by phone but I didn't get any response from them and the problem is still not resolved. Please fix this issue. Wish it was easier to highlight, to be able to layer different color highlights, and the pop up to see where you are was bigger and adaptable to move from edges. I also wish the delete highlight button was in a different place, when I try to change color, I accidentally delete it altogether. LOVE the dyslexic font, PLEASE dont ever delete it. Also wish underlining was a thing, or being able to customize/sort what was noted/highlighted (esp w/ different color highlights). Also, more highlight colors? Full Review

When browsing the store there's word scrolling problems, it keeps trying to bounce back to where it was, and you have to move very slowly to just get anywhere. On a search, when hitting the next button it would load the next page, and then immediately load a page without the search filters. You then had to hit the back button to get to the page you wanted. I used the app during the free trial period then stopped using it before the trial period was up. I really liked it I just don't use it enough to keep it. I noticed I was getting charged the following month. Tried to figure out how to stop getting charged for services I wasn't using. I unsubscribed and I was still getting charged. Finally figured out that customer service was my last option left. They assured me that I will get a refund for the entire 5 months I was getting charged. As long as that happens my review will be 5 stars. If it is less then they lied to me. Full Review

This app is great, if you're just reading. Buying books is a nightmare. They clearly revamped the store, which would be fine if when I swipe up, it went anywhere, instead of bouncing back down. Scrolling left or right on carousels is challenging, and up/down scrolling is absolutely terrible. They've made strides as just a reader, but the store, scrolling, and purchasing experiences are just awful all around. I now buy all of my books in the regular Amazon app, and then send them to my phone, it's that bad. Full Review

There is a ton of content and many reviews.to help with choosing books. The fact that it is connected with Amazon makes this app convenient. It's much better than couple of years ago, but it needs customised covers especially for PDFs or books not purchased on Amazon. It should have an option to add author and title to non-Amazon documents and books, so it will be easier to find them. You can't read or add reviews in the app (Nexus 6p). You can handle your collections on different devices, including Kindle, but they don't really sync well when set up on Amazon website (the one to handle all of your books). I think the website should be improved, because it's not really user friendly. Full Review

Update 17/2/18: the latest update has made the store unusable, and causes frequent crashes. This app never fails to disappoint! I was wondering what was crashing my tablet - and now I've narrowed it down to this app. Even with 2g of memory the system will freeze requiring a reboot. Other aspects of the app are OK (as opposed to great) - there's no page turn using the volume buttons, and the display customisation is very limited. But, if you want to be locked into Amazon's low price publishing, and you want to use Android- then this is the only option. Full Review
